Love at First Sight
I knew she was the one when I saw her during college orientation, that first day in August several years ago.
She was stylish and looked just great without any shine to her body. I would see her now and then during our four years in college, but I knew I was not at her social level. I had no thoughts that I could rise to her level and be the one to have her some day.
That type required high maintenance and long-term daily care. She would need a large residence and every day I would have to talk nicely to her and make sure that I came home every night so that she would not think I had deserted her.
Strange things happen, and she and I are now a twosome. When we go out, people will stare at us and I can read their minds, thinking that I am one lucky guy. I keep her warm at night and make sure that all her needs are immediately taken care of.
It wasn’t easy to get her for I had to convince John Doubler that I was the one for her and that I could handle her and afford her and be good to her and do all the things necessary for us to be together for a very long time. I’m good for Betsy and Betsy is good for me.
We just had our 10th anniversary and everything is fine. I have added to my financial status so much that, when we are together, no one doubts that we belong together.
Not too many owners of a 1992 Buick Roadmaster can make that unqualified statement.
