NOVEMBER 2024 UPDATE: New book project THINGS YOU DIDN’T KNOW ABOUT THE HOLOCAUST

Phyllis Zimbler Miller is a Los Angeles screenwriter (film and TV), book author, playwright, and former Mrs. Lieutenant who worked as a Department of the Army civilian in counterintelligence with the U.S. Army’s 66th Military Intelligence Group in Munich during the Cold War. Phyllis is especially passionate about Jewish storytelling.

She grew up in Elgin, Illinois, earning her B.A. in Journalism at Michigan State University and her M.B.A. in Finance at The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. She is currently working on a M.A. in Jewish Studies from the Spertus Institute.

Phyllis’ military writing has been awarded a Nicholl Fellowship quarterfinalist and an Amazon Breakthrough Novel Award semifinalist. She has been the co-host of a BlogTalkRadio military interview show and a member of the Department of Defense’s Bloggers Roundtable.

She is currently the co-host of the NEVER AGAIN IS NOW podcast about antisemitism on YouTube, Spotify and Apple Podcasts and the host of JEWS AND THE WORLD podcast on YouTube.

Her in-progress documentary JEWS OF CZECHIA: YESTERDAY AND TODAY is one of four finalists of the Religious Heritage Europe innovator competition 2023.

Excerpts from her nonfiction Holocaust theater project www.ThinEdgeOfTheWedge.com – developed for students to educate about the Holocaust and to combat antisemitism – have been utilized in the U.S. and Germany (professional German translation available) and were featured in the U.S. Ramstein Air Force base Holocaust remembrance event held April 28, 2022.

Phyllis is a member of Women in Film, Women in Media, the Dramatists Guild, the Alliance for Jewish Theatre, the Association for Holocaust Organizations, and the Military Writers Society of America.
